This writing is an experiment, which draws on montage to think about montage. Based on the writings of Georges Didi-Huberman about montage, as well as other authors who deepen the reflections about this procedure, fragments that present the act of montage as a form of knowledge production were collected. Although thinking about montage is not restricted to working with images, the lines that follow focus on how the gathering, composition, display, and visualization of heterogeneous images in the same place motivates the perception and imagination of relationships between them. The acts of building and/or observing montages emerge, then, as strategies for thinking about them, their discourses, and the ways they relate to the world they are part of, supporting a critical thinking that invites one to take position regarding what one sees.
